Hello from Guwahati, Assam, India. I am here with my friend, Ed Aw. Ed is originally from the San Jose area and we attended Western Sem together many moons ago. I am here with Ed helping to train and coach church planters among the Council of Baptist Churches of North East India. This is the largest Baptist denomination in South Asia (possibly in all of Asia). The leadership have completely accepted the house church movement model and have already seen 320 new house churches start among the Assam Baptist Convention. It is awesome to see older traditional church leaders catch this vision and to hear new more indigenous style worship spring up from what the Lord is doing. One of the five convention leader attendees are the Garo tribe. The Garos convert to Christianity one hundred and fifty years ago. They wrote the well known Baptist hymn, "i have decided to follow Jesus." Ed and my coach, George Patterson came here in May and believes that this may be the largest denomination in Church History to adpot the house church movement model and we are all eager to see what the Lord does next.
